Charleston

Recently I visited South Carolina for the first time. It was bit hot and humid which I am not used to being from the Seattle area. However, my visit to the charming city of Charleston was by far the best photo opportunity of my trip. I was there for a day but ended up with over 400 photos. Since I have a tendency to shoot nature scenes, I have been trying to balance out my portfolios with more architectural material. I hit the jackpot.

Charleston it a photographer’s dream. Meticulously preserved homes and public buildings line cobblestone streets with magnificent historic churches in the center of town. I was especially impressed with the Circular Church. I even took some photos of cemeteries which I don’t normally do. The city government of Charleston takes the preservation of historical buildings very seriously. I was stunned by how many old buildings were in pristine condition. The City Market and waterfront are also point of interest. If you get a chance to visit this charming southern city, go for it.
